The Multi-Member Court of First Instance of Patra rules on IP software dispute and awards damages of 1,5 mio euro for violation of IP rights and the prohibitions of the law on unfair competition
By decision No.560/2009 (regular procedure) the multi-member CFI of Patra found in favour of the plaintiff -a software company, granting it exclusive ownership of IP rights over a computer software program. The CFI awarded damages in excess of 1,5 million euro for violation of the plaintiff’s proprietary rights by a former executive-programmer and further accepted all counts of violation of the law on unfair competition. Christos Golfinopoulos acted in the legal team representing the plaintiff.
